About

For the first time in their history, The National Ballet of Canada and Canada’s National Ballet School have joined forces to create YOU dance - a dynamic new initiative to introduce students to the exciting world of dance. YOU dance exposes young audiences in Grades 4 to 6 to classical ballet through workshops and performances.

Workshops are led by experienced dance teachers from Canada’s National Ballet School and are a learning experience for both students and teachers. Through the use of movement, music, photos, costumes and props, classrooms are transformed into arts-minded communities as students’ imaginations are encouraged to soar.

Performances by Apprentices from The National Ballet of Canada will take place in the intimate setting of the Betty Oliphant Theatre in Toronto. Repertoire has been specifically selected for Grades 4 to 6 and is a perfect introduction to ballet. Each performance will include the opportunity for students to interact with the artists through discussion.
